A Scale with Unbelievable Durability

Worrying about things like concentrated load capacity is a pain unless you work with the scales in the trucking industry. I even have drivers who don’t seem to care about weighing their trucks and loads. They see it as a necessary evil on the way to earning their paycheck. In fact it’s one of the most important things we do here at the company. I spend my entire day weighing our fleet before they hit the road. It’s done because of trucking industry standards and the laws governing now much weight we are allowed to put out on the roads.

That is why it is absolutely imperative that the company invest in a durable and highly accurate scale. A scale that is old, or crippled with various broken parts, will eventually result in massive fines from the government and likely lost contracts with other companies because we wouldn’t get their loads to them on time. Our company recently invested in a scale that can handle so much weight that we are looking at it lasting for potentially twenty five years. It’s incredible as I’ve never seen a scale that can handle this much weight. Amazing what they can do these days.

It’s also funny because we’ll never peg the needle on the scale as the weight load for a truck is significantly less than what this scale can handle. The upside to that is that we can run up to 250 trucks over this scale a day and still be using the scale in probably twenty five years. That is so long that I won’t be working here to see it replaced. I’ll be retired and possibly even dead when this scale is still chugging along. It’s even likely this scale will still be in operation when drivers have been replaced with computers!
