We Need a New Television Model

As someone who has been paying for DirecTV, I’ve come to respect them as a company and an optional choice against the rising faults within the cable industry. It is without a doubt a serious problem which is facing many American Consumers; do they choose satellite television or do they continue on with their cable service providers despite the abuse that so many are beginning to face? I think the problem is simple, really; for a service which demands so much upkeep and constant interaction with their customers, they’ve come to the point where they actually have far too many customers to handle effectively.

Clearly something has to be done about this and a new approach has to be created. I think much of the issue lies in the fact that they offer not just cable service packages but also the Internet, which has many direct competitors. (more…)
