We Spent the Weekend at the Beach

Tuesday, July 25th, 2017

Of course it was an easy thing for me because my friend Andy owns a lot of real estate and he has a huge beach house. This place is way too big for a single family. Instead you go there with your cousins and your aunts and your uncles and your grandparents. It is a big thing if you are going to rent the place, but we just tagged along with a bunch of friends. The place is amazing, in fact there was a 800mm wide towel radiator in the bathroom that we were using. That was a strange thing for me, since I did not really understand why you want a heated towel enough to bother with that sort of thing. (more…)

I Wonder if This is Effective

Sunday, July 23rd, 2017

Someone at work showed me the blog post, a facelift without surgery review. I looked at it and thought about how effective it would be. Obviously I have seen people who use botox and in theory that is effective, but it seems to be something that is done either artistically or it is done in some bumbling way. You have to be able to use just enough of it, because if you get too much that is going to be really odd looking. It is a bizarre thing, the way that people look when you know that they have had the injection done. It is like the face is frozen in a strange way. (more…)

Analysis is the Ticket in Cricket

Friday, July 14th, 2017

When I was growing up, I didn’t really understand the sport of cricket. I had no interest in it, and I didn’t understand why anyone else would, but I didn’t care. Years later when I became an adult, I became interested in the sport and now I can’t go without watching it. It’s funny how things change when people become older. I’ve done a bit of betting on some of the cricket games, and sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. To have a better chance of winning, I use Big Bash League cricket tips, because that’s what the winners use when they make bets.

It may seem like there aren’t many things you can learn when it comes to betting on cricket matches, other than not betting too much money, but it goes beyond that. (more…)

My Kids Urged Me to Start Caring About Myself Again

Tuesday, July 4th, 2017

My wife left me out of the blue, and it broke my heart into pieces. I ended up becoming depressed and was barely there for my children, much less myself. I gained weight. I became flabby. I could barely get up a couple of flights of stairs easily. My kids urged me to start working out. My oldest son told me to read a Crazy Bulk review to learn about the product that he uses to gain muscle and lose fat. I decided to look up some reviews before purchasing it, and everything my son said about it was true. So, I decided to get some for myself, and I must say that it really made sculpting my body much easier than before I started takng it. I think that it helped me to stick with my workout plan more easily because of the great results that it gave me.

I don’t blame myself for becoming depressed. I gave my marriage everything that I had to give, but my then-wife just didn’t care. She was sort of an unhappy person in the first place, and she was never satisfied with much of anything. So, I don’t know how I ever thought that i would satisfy her as a good husband for the rest of our lives. But I loved her and hoped that everything would turn out. She didn’t even say goodbye to me in person. She took all her stuff and moved out while I was at a work retreat. I came home to a mostly empty note and a short note saying that she was leaving me.

When I finally realized that my life wasn’t over, the kids helped me to get back on track. I work out with my son 4 times per week now, and I really enjoy the father and son time. My daughter is a runner, and she has talked me into running two days per week on the weekends with her. I enjoy all the time spent with her, too. I must say that I am also feeling good and looking good, too.

Little Things I Have Learned from Public Speaking Seminars

Sunday, July 2nd, 2017

I have never been afraid of speaking in public. I figure that what I have to say is of value to someone, and I can communicate using words that people understand. I like to make people laugh, and I am not beyond using other emotions to get a point across. However, even though I feel natural at speaking to groups, I wanted to be the best I can be at it. I started going to public speaking seminars to learn how to make my presentations at work and to the public better. There is so much about body language alone that contributes to the success or failure of what you have to say in public.

Add in voice inflection and the use of confusing idioms or mixed metaphors, and you can have a mess on your hands when speaking in public. It is also important to keep on topic. I like a lot of different things. I use analogies in public speaking to make points to different groups. However, I stick to the topic. (more…)
