Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite!

Wednesday, October 25th, 2017

I think everyone has heard the term bed bugs. I know I can remember all the way back to when my parents would still tuck me in at night, and the last thing they would say would be to not let the bed bugs bite. I had no idea what it meant then, and i still really did not understand bed bugs until very recently when I had to do some research on finding a bed bug exterminator in Phoenix. My son had gone on a weekend camping trip with some of his friends, and we think that is where our bed bug infestation came from.

Prior to this, I would have almost thought bed bugs were mythical creatures just because I have never heard of anyone having a problem with them. (more…)

Keeping Our Existing Windows but Improving Energy Efficiency

Tuesday, October 24th, 2017

We wanted a window solution to keep the grand wooden windows we have here at our house. We painstakingly restored the weathered wooden frames inside and out, but these are not energy-efficient double-glazed windows. They are the thin 4mm glass panes. We looked for UPVC double glazed windows in Sydney, and we discovered an 8mm glass option instead. We like glass better than any plastic option. I like the durability of glass and how it does not scratch and get cloudy no mater how many times you clean it.

This is why when I get eyeglasses, I get real glass. I have had plastic lenses that barely made it a year before I could not see through the scratches. My last pair of eyeglasses I had made of glass never did scratch. I only needed to replace them because I broke them by dropping them onto a tile floor. For windows, glass is a superior product in practically every way. Having 8mm-thick glass added to the inside really added a protective layer thermally and physically. The spanjolet locking mechanism is also very secure compared to the type of window locks you have even on modern windows. (more…)

They Brought Our Plant Up to Speed Quickly

Monday, October 23rd, 2017

We employed a firm that does mechanical engineering services recently to bring an old plant up to working condition so we could resume production here in the country. The new administration in Washington is very amenable to making businesses conditions better for those companies who wish to make things in America. They’re actually doing a lot of things behind the scenes that most people don’t know about. They’re cutting regulations right and left, for one thing, so that running a production facility here will be a better use of resources than shipping the whole manufacturing team overseas.

The money is also starting to flow. There are a lot of grants and blocks of money moving into the states to make sure that Americans will have access to well paying production and manufacturing jobs. (more…)
